Again in January, Olivia Paxton of North Carolina–who calls herself an “elite hobby-jogger”–hosted her very personal 5K race on the morning of her wedding ceremony. Sporting a white working jacket and veil, the bride welcomed a robust turnout. The race was legit: espresso and pastries, a medal ceremony and champagne for the rostrum finishers. The Maid of Honour took the win.

Hungover marathon

In April, Emily Marchant, a bride-to-be from Swansea, U.Okay., ran the Brighton Marathon after a wild evening out along with her bridesmaids. Wearing a hen costume and working on simply three and a half hours of sleep, Marchant managed ton place third, clocking a powerful 2:55:45 over 42.2K.

And let’s not neglect Norwegian distance legend Jakob Ingebrigtsen, who ran a beer mile as a part of his 2023 bachelor get together–ending in a strong 5:22.
